MRes in Human-Computer Interaction
A collaborative initiative between the Departments of Computing, Design and Psychology. It is a response to the increasing prominence of digital information in society and radical changes in the nature of our everyday interaction with such information through interactive devices (e.g. communication and computing systems, vehicular systems, health care support systems, and personal digital assistants).
• An integrated curriculum that brings together strengths in computing, design and psychology to address core topics in designing and evaluating interfaces, from empirical studies of human-system interaction to technological advances in interactive systems;
• Several EPSRC-funded Masters Training Packages available each year;
• A unique collaborative design project module, where students work together designing for an audience of industrial and academic end-users;
• Dissertation projects undertaken at collaborating companies (e.g., Sony Ericsson, Hewlett Packard) under academic supervision;
• An exciting and internationally-renowned environment for advanced interactive environment research, recently enhanced by major investments in an innovative interaction laboratory and key university appointments.
