Interaction Design for Media Technologies
Interaction design is the art of creating effective, interesting and compelling interactive experiences to all forms of technology such as, interactive television, mobile phones, Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), computer games, smart toys and business products. Interaction design addresses the psychological and social aspects of interacting with technology. Computer-based technology is becoming more portable and thus presenting many different and exiting ways in which we can use and interact with technology. In this course, you will use creative and innovative design and evaluation approaches to develop new interactive media.
All products and systems require some level of interaction or communication dialogue between users and technology. In this course we explore a wide range of interaction possibilities, for example, speech-based menus with a telephone, interactive smart tables, prototyping innovative web technology and exciting computer games design through studio projects. Also you will explore how we should communicate with future types of communication and information-based technology.
At the end of the course you will be an interaction designer. Many large manufacturing and computing organisations now employ interaction designers to assist in the development of innovative interactive technologies and are in high demand, particularly in Europe.
